Rupawathi Sakunthala Tissanayagam born 16th December 1927, daughter of the late Tellipalai Chinnappa Rajaratnam and the late Raninayagam (nee Kumarakulasinghe Muttaiah) standing at the entrance porch of her ancestral home Raneestan, Inuvil, Chunnakam. She married the late Charles Rasaratnam Tissanayagam on 1st February 1947. Family tradition has it that this picture was the one seen by her future husband at the time of the marriage proposal
